Very very late and overdue, I bring you a pic essay of my ONE traditional North Carolina meal I got to eat while in raleigh NC about a month ago. We had diner at a restaurant called Lucky 32. now technically its classified as Southern food, not NC food, but they did have plenty of local [...] I would like to assume most foodies are capable of pairing basic wines with certain foods. But we do not think of trying to pair other alcohols with food. Trying other spirits or beers can be revealing and fun. This coming Monday I am actually going to do that with a friend. [...] When I found out a few months ago that I would be traveling to Raleigh, NC I contacted the tourism bureau to receive a travel brochure. Of course I scrutinized the brochure for food facts or suggestions. One thing that went on my MUST list was the so called local cocktail the [...] Yeah, I know! Quite a title for the first post of 2010, right lol. Gimme a minute it will make sense. So I hope everyone rung in the New Year in their favorite way.I wish you all love, happiness, success and delicious smells from the kitchen! And now today starts: the RESOLUTIONS!!!!!!!!! Scray word. I honestly did not [...] Wow, who would have thought The Daring Kitchen’s last baker’s challenge was going to become such a controversy! I have gotten lots of private and public feedback but the best has been an ongoing email conversation with Claudia, a member of my dinner group. She happens to have Italian blood in her veins. The controversy is [...] I was just forwarded a link to an article about a restaurant chain in Toronto that serves exclusively poutine. Funny enough the person who sent it to me is a co-worker who lives in Toronto but spends every other month up in Montreal (lucky him!) This place is called Smoke’s Poutinerie. Poutine from La Banquise Anne Marie [...] ****after I published this link like everywhere on earth a friend wrote saying:’ Is it not spelled whirlwind?” Duh, blind moment…yes I wrote it wrong.*** Wow, when they say everything happens at the same time….they mean it. And over a 3 day period – in a row! Even if you try to ignore me I’ll be plastered [...] No I am not going all environmental on you all (not that there is anything wrong with it in good Seinfeld dialect). It was just apparently the inspiration of the day. At lunch time I headed over to La Maison du Macaron as the owners graciously donated their new hot-off-the-press recipe book as a prize for [...] Another long overdue post delayed by my hosting fiasco… I had the pleasure a couple of week back to meet a fellow food blogger who had mentioned she would be in Montreal for a conference.
