I am back home. I am SO depressed about it and don’t even talk to me about Monday morning. I am in total end-of-vacation denial. I go through this every time. But at least I had one event I was really looking forward to upon my return home.
The Montreal Foodie Blogger group had a special event: a pot luck dinner at Aimée of Under the High Chair. We did end up being a much smaller group then expected but we had a fabulous time. Actually we were just small enough to all participate in the same large conversation. If you follow Aimée’s blog you know what a hostess queen she is. It is a well deserved title. It was great seeing other bloggers I knew and also a couple of new faces. The under the high chair part was quite present too with a total of 5 beautiful children running a muck and giving us much laughter and entertainment.
We kept the menu light with this dreadful war weather: a few tasty salads, cheeses, chicken skewers and a bit of beef on the grill. That was followed by roasted homemade marshmallows in the fire pit of the backyard. We finished off the evening with inside with coffee, tea, a berry fruit salad and a few fabulous cakes. I brought my Green Tea Cake.
Of course there are no pictures! My camera is still in Washington DC where I forgot it on my friend’s kitchen table. It will be on it’s way soon in the mail. I did however have my friends send me the pics I had taken already and while I was in Raleigh I borrowed a camera. There will be plenty of little posts about my foodie experiences while on vacation.
Until then I will leave you with an amusing set of old ads that are so not PC anymore some may make you cringe! Cliock on each thumbnail to see them.

I really enjoyed the green tea cake. I wrote down the recipe, I’ll try making it myself. Here’s the berry salad recipe: http://victor-recipe.blogspot.com/2009/05/summer-berry-medley.html
I agree with you, it was indeed a well-organized bbq party! Glad to meet some new foodies.
Welcome back from vacation…I really hope everything went your way ;o)
Ciao for now,
Claudia
